The course offers an overview of the most important topics of Atmospheric Science in the context of global change. The following topics are covered in this course: fundamental principles of Meteorology (meteorological elements, primitive equations, horizontal and vertical structures of the atmosphere); Atmospheric Dynamics; Weather Systems; Atmospheric Composition and Chemistry; Chemistry-Climate Interdependencies; as well as more in-depth topics like Extreme Air Pollution, Climate Geoengineering, Remote Sensing of the Atmosphere, and the connections between Atmospheric Science and Society. The seminar presentations will be based on the most recent IPCC WG-1 report.
